Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ceedee Queen (ranked 1227 p4p, 2172 weight class) and Lou Valentine (ranked 178 p4p, 296 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ceedee Queen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lou Valentine! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Queen. Valentine does a little dance to reset his feet. Queen backing away here, and Valentine unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Valentine checks a leg kick. Ceedee Queen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Queen jabs Valentine to the body, keeping him at a distance. Queen throws a chopping leg kick but Valentine manages to avoid taking any serious damage. It seemed like Valentine was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Valentine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Queen.
Queen shoots in for a takedown but Valentine shows good takedown defense. Queen misses the body punch and Valentine finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Queen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Valentine swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. An inside leg kick lands from Queen. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jab, jab by Queen - just one landing. Queen looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Valentine is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Valentine scores with a leg kick.
Valentine doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Queen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Queen misses with a wild body shot. Valentine looks like he wants to counter punch here. Queen throws a lazy uppercut
and Valentine counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Queen fails with a takedown attempt. Valentine moves into the clinch. Valentine lands a left hand that snaps the head of Queen backwards. Valentine lands a hook that snaps the head of Queen backwards. Good body shot from Valentine.
Queen tries to break the clinch but Valentine is controlling the position. Valentine scores with a shoulder strike. Queen prevents a body shot from Valentine.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine presses Queen against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Queen is breathing heavily. Valentine scores with a nice hook to the head. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Valentine creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. I was talking to Queen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valentine lands a left hand that snaps the head of Queen backwards. Queen tries to work over Valentine's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Valentine misses with some punches.
Valentine keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Queen's efforts to push away. Valentine lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Valentine tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Queen successfully pulls guard.

Queen gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Queen looks to score with a jab to the body but Valentine is just out of range. Queen throws a right hand that misses
and Valentine counters with a low kick, right behind Queen 's knee. Queen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Valentine swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Queen misses with a low kick. It seemed like Valentine was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Queen stuns Valentine with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Queen getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Queen shoots in looking for a takedown. Valentine tries to sprawl out of it but Queen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Valentine manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ceedee Queen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Queen feints and then cracks Valentine's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Valentine down. Valentine keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Queen tests Valentine's chin there with a solid looking shot. Queen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Valentine manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valentine wants to sweep here but Queen controlling him for the moment. Valentine is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Queen is aware though and is defending well. Queen postures up and lands a big shot to Valentine's brow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valentine trying to control the position.
Queen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Valentine looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Queen looking to pass the guard. Valentine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Queen is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valentine working a defensive guard here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lou Valentine will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Valentine tries to sprawl but Queen drives through with a takedown into half guard. Valentine has hold of Queen's hands but Queen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Valentine trying to control from the bottom.
Valentine tries to roll over but Queen keeps him under control. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Queen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Valentine with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Valentine is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Queen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Queen's back! Valentine is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Queen is defending well though. Valentine let's go of the attempt for now. Valentine patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Valentine has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Valentine working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Queen rolls, trying to escape but Valentine keeps control of the position.

Queen throwing strikes from guard but Valentine blocks nicely. Queen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Queen stands up over Valentine, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Queen postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Queen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Valentine is trying to keep Queen in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Queen trying to control the position from guard on top but Valentine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Queen is looking to work some ground and pound but Valentine has wrist control. Valentine trying to control the position.
Queen stands up over Valentine, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Valentine tries to land a sweep but no joy. Valentine controlling the position. Queen postures up and lands a big shot to Valentine's brow. Queen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Valentine is trying to keep Queen in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Valentine has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Queen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Valentine. Queen working the ground and pound from side control. Queen throwing strikes but Valentine manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! I wouldn't like to be where Queen is right now. Valentine works to advance to full mount. Queen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valentine lands a big shot there that rocks Queen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Queen wants to hold on but Valentine pushes him away. Valentine looking to control but Queen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Valentine goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Queen is on top in guard.
Valentine has control of Queen's left arm, preventing Queen from doing any damage. Queen is looking to work some ground and pound but Valentine has wrist control. Queen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Valentine is trying to control the position but Queen postures up. Valentine looking for a guillotine here but Queen defends easily.
Queen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Valentine works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ceedee Queen will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Valentine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Valentine looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Queen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Valentine. Queen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Valentine. Queen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Valentine moves away. Valentine checks a low kick from Queen. Ceedee Queen is winning the standup battle so far. Queen throws a lazy right hand but Valentine sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Valentine looks like he wants to counter punch here. Valentine feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Queens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Valentine getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Queen swings away with a body shot that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Queen tries to land a leg kick but Valentine saw it coming and moves away.

Queen is looking to wear down Valentine with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Valentine takes a jab right on the kisser.

and Valentine counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Valentine displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Queen throws out the jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valentine moves out of range of the strikes. A clash of legs there as Valentine blocks the low kick. Queen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Valentine is out of range. Queen connects with a body shot. Queen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Queen keeping moving, preventing Valentine from controlling successfully. Valentine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Queen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Queen is trying to control the position but Valentine postures up. Queen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Queen keeping moving, preventing Valentine from controlling successfully. Queen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valentine is one step ahead there. Valentine trying to stand up but can't free himself from Queen's guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Queen throws a poor cross that misses
and Valentine counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Queen scoring well with a low kick there.
Queen sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Queen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valentine sprawls well. Valentine wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Queen gets slowly back to his feet. Valentine looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ceedee Queen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Valentine feints and then cracks Queen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Queen down. Queen misses the shot to the body. Nice straight punches there by Valentine. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Valentine. And that's the end of the fight! Lou Valentine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Valentine has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
