This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Oskar Friman! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 3 losses; Louis C K! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. C K looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Friman! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Friman (0) vs (4) C K C K just content to control the position. Friman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Friman is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on C K's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Friman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. C K is working away from the top position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. C K trying to control from half guard but Friman is working away. Friman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of C K's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take C K's back! That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Friman wants to control the position but C K frees himself and scrambles - Friman manages to regain control in side control.
Friman is looking to take a break and control but C K is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. C K struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that's the end of the fight! C K wins on points by 7 to 4. A less than humble Louis C K misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities. |
