PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yannick Sakala (ranked 2705 p4p, 3676 weight class) and Doug Williams (ranked 334 p4p, 430 weight class). Sakala kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pole Pole. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakala rushes Williams and presses him up against the cage.
Sakala digs a right hand into Williams's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Williams's gas tank.
A short left from Sakala.
Sakala is working Williams over against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Williams.
Williams can't find room to land a body shot as Sakala controls the action.

Sakala breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sakala displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab.
Sakala scores with a nice right hand.
Sakala has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Lakeside Jiu-Jitsu in the buildup to the fight.
Williams misses with an uppercut.
Sakala swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
Williams walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Doug Williams has been cut.
Williams closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sakala counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Williams looks winded!

Sakala drops Williams with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Williams looks back up at him and smiles so Sakala waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sakala fakes the body blow, causing Williams to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Williams goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
