Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Napoleon Panda (ranked 3109 p4p, 1855 weight class) and Akio Kurosaki (ranked 180 p4p, 107 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Napoleon Panda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akio Kurosaki!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosaki throws a jab but it's blocked by Panda.

Panda had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kurosaki defends it easily.

My spies in Rabid Dog inform me that Kurosaki has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Panda drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Panda jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Panda wants to pass the guard but Kurosaki is keeping the position.
Kurosaki can't keep his opponent in guard - Panda advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Panda is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kurosaki doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Panda.

Panda is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kurosaki defends it well.

That was a close round but I would say that Napoleon Panda will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

No luck for Panda with that takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Panda is defended easily by Kurosaki.
Panda tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kurosaki defends well and Panda ends up having to push Kurosaki into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Napoleon Panda. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Panda has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kurosaki uses from the top position.

We've been hearing good reports from Panda's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kurosaki has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Panda to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kurosaki is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Panda pulls down on the head and he's put Kurosaki to sleep! This one is all over!
