Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balal Lama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Neer!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lama swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Neer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lama tries to avoid it but Neer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lama to the ground. Lama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lama defending well as Neer loads up on a big left hand.
Lama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lama working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Lama is looking to take a break and control but Neer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lama lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Neer down.
Lama has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lama scores with a couple of short elbows.
Neer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Neer is not content to let Lama control the position.
Lama lands with a punch from half guard.
Neer is rocked!
Neer wants to get back to full guard.
Lama is keen to just control but Neer is a slippery customer.
Lama passes to full mount!
Lama lands a couple of good shots and Neer has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Neer is still in real trouble! Can Lama finish him?
A bit of a pause in the action here. Lama controlling the positon.
Lama is cranking Neer's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Neer! He's tightened the choke and Neer is tapping out!
