PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Radar (ranked 2277 p4p, 24800 weight class) and Halt Warris (ranked 68 p4p, 152 weight class). Warris has chosen Alarm Clock as his entrance music. Halt Warris told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Radar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Halt Warris! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Radar darts in and clinches Warris up against the cage. Radar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Oh, that's a big right hand from Radar and Warris goes tumbling to the canvas! Radar follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
It looks like Halt Warris has been cut. Radar is looking to take a break and control but Warris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Radar throwing shots but Warris is blocking nicely. Warris avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Radar. Warris is trying to control but can't.
Radar lands with a punch from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Radar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Warris is rocked!
That has opened up Halt Warris's cut even more. Radar is taking a breather. Warris says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Warris keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Radar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Radar scoring with strikes to the body and head. Warris is still in real trouble! Can Radar finish him?
The cut above Halt Warris's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Warris wants to control but Radar is keeping busy.
Warris seems to have recovered his senses. Radar lands with a punch from half guard.
Halt Warris's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Halt Warris's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Max Radar!
