Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boytsov (ranked 1428 p4p, 1098 weight class) and Trimagasi Junior (ranked 199 p4p, 154 weight class). Trimagasi Junior has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dmitry Boytsov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitry Boytsov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trimagasi Junior! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Boytsov. Junior does a little dance to reset his feet. Junior takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Junior attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Boytsov moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Boytsov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Junior can pounce on him.
Boytsov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Boytsov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like Dmitry Boytsov has been cut. A telegraphed right hand from Junior misses the target. Boytsov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Junior but Junior pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Junior takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's one minute gone in the round. Junior does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Boytsov throws a nice looking combination but Junior bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Junior with a nice cross. Junior throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Boytsov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Junior's guard. Junior is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Boytsov dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boytsov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Boytsov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Junior manages to get back to half guard. Boytsov is trying to work for a kimura but Junior is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Junior is trying to control but can't.

Boytsov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Junior does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are battling for position here. Junior manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Junior really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boytsov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Junior is pulling down on Boytsov's head to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boytsov engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Boytsov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Boytsov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boytsov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Junior is pulling down on Boytsov's head to control his posture. Boytsov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Junior's head. Boytsov trying to control but Junior is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Junior looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boytsov is one step ahead there. Boytsov stays in close to Junior's body and controls the position. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Junior has control of Boytsov's left arm, preventing Boytsov from doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Boytsov throws a lazy right hand but Junior sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Trimagasi Junior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Junior lands a nice shot to the body.
Boytsov shoots for a double leg takedown but Junior sprawls well. He's pushed Boytsov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dmitry Boytsov will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Dmitry Boytsov's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. A shot to the liver by Junior. Beautiful body shot. Junior misses with a looping right. Boytsov misses with a left hand and Junior counters with a left to the body. Boytsov throws a big shot that misses. Junior throws a body kick that misses. Junior throws a hook but Boytsov blocks it. Junior fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boytsov manages to avoid it. Boytsov on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Junior lands a leg kick that knocks Boytsov off balance momentarily. Boytsov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Junior circles away. Boytsov fails with a takedown attempt. A little jabbing left from Junior on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boytsov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Boytsov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Junior. Boytsov shoots in looking for a takedown but Junior manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boytsov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitry Boytsov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boytsov thows a left - swing and a miss! Junior throws out a counter right but Boytsov avoids it with no problem. Boytsov moves forwards but Junior connects with a nice, crisp jab. Junior fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Boytsov to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Boytsov looks to clinch but Junior throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Boytsov taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
