Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Niaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Kamenev!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niaz is looking to clinch.
Kamenev closes the distance and clinches.
Kamenev tries to work over Niaz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Niaz avoids the elbow strike from Kamenev, against the cage.
Niaz blocks an uppercut.
Kamenev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Niaz walks away with a smile on his face. Kamenev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Niaz wants to clinch
and Kamenev counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Niaz wants to improve his position but Kamenev is controlling well.

We've been hearing good reports from Niaz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Niaz is trying to control but can't.
Kamenev takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kamenev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Niaz defends it well.
Niaz is pressing down on Kamenev's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Niaz looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kamenev puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Kamenev is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Niaz knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Niaz for a finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kamenev is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Niaz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kamenev.

Kamenev is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Niaz is surviving well by controlling Kamenev's body position as best he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kamenev can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Niaz is looking to escape.
Kamenev avoids the attempt from Niaz to control.

Kamenev wants to take Niaz's back but he can't do it this time.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Niaz is trying to maintain the position but Kamenev is very close to passing his half guard.
Niaz is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Kamenev has latched onto it... Big trouble! Kamenev pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Niaz is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Kamenev!
