PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Horse (ranked 564 p4p, 579 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 75 p4p, 77 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Crazy Horse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reedtz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Horse.
Horse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reedtz swivels and escapes.
Horse throws a lazy right hand but Reedtz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A little jabbing left from Reedtz on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Reedtz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Horse.
Reedtz is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Horse staying out of range there.
Reedtz closes the distance and clinches up with Horse, looking for a takedown. Reedtz pushes Horse against the cage but Horse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horse loads up on a big right hand but Reedtz slips the punch.
A jab lands there for Horse.
Horse misses with a shot to the body
and Reedtz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Horse thows a left - swing and a miss!
Horse with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Reedtz to score with a decent uppercut.
Reedtz looks to throw the jab but Horse is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reedtz takes a jab right on the kisser.

Reedtz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Horse looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reedtz is one step ahead there.
Reedtz cracks Horse with a solid left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Horse is on top in guard.


Horse drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Reedtz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Horse has Reedtz in his guard.

Reedtz trying to control the position from guard on top but Horse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reedtz is looking to work some ground and pound but Horse has wrist control.
Horse looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Horse has momentary wrist control but Reedtz slips an elbow through the middle.
Reedtz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reedtz working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Horse's head.
Reedtz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Horse is trying to control the position but Reedtz postures up.
Reedtz is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Horse is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Horse connects with a nice short shot to Reedtz's temple.

Horse is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Reedtz is just riding it out for now. Horse eventually gives up the hold.
Horse throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Horse passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Reedtz!
Reedtz really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horse lands with some strikes.
Horse has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Reedtz is trying to escape the mount.
Reedtz tries to lock up and control but Horse gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Horse trying to control but Reedtz is having none of it.
Reedtz can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Horse trying to control but Reedtz is having none of it.
Reedtz is in all sorts of trouble here.
Reedtz gets back to half guard.
Reedtz is staying active underneath Horse, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Horse is looking to advance position but Reedtz won't allow it.

Horse is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Horse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reedtz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Reedtz wants to improve his position but Horse is controlling well.
Horse is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Horse in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Reedtz tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Horse!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Crazy Horse!
