Costello is breathing heavily. Peralta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Costello tries to avoid it but Peralta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Costello to the ground. Costello escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. John Costello has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Peralta. Peralta throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Costello's waist but Costello gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peralta off to one side. Costello throws a nice looking combination but Peralta bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Costello throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Peralta looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Peralta is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Costello is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Costello has escaped and now he's on top! Peralta looking for a sweep. Not yet Peralta, not yet.

Peralta can't do much from the bottom here. Costello has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Horrible takedown by Peralta or perhaps it was just good defense by Costello which made him look bad. Costello tries to bum rush Peralta with a series of wild strikes but Peralta uses good footwork to avoid the assault. John Costello is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
