Tan comes to the cage accompanied by Thunder. Mogens Pedersen has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Big Zac Tan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pedersen sprawls well initially but Tan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Tan winds up and cracks Pedersen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Tan trying to control the pace.
Pedersen works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pedersen controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pedersen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pedersen working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tan.
Pedersen keeping moving, preventing Tan from controlling successfully.
Tan tries to free his leg and advance position but Pedersen is retaining full guard.
Our spies down at at Cozad The Island inform us that Pedersen has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tan trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedersen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tan wants to control from the top but Pedersen keeps moving.
Tan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pedersen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Tan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Tan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Pedersen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tan's guard.

Tan has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Pedersen content to stall in guard here.
Tan will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Tan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pedersen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tan is looking to cinch up a triangle. Pedersen throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Tan's body to avoid the submission. Tan has instead reached around Pedersen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Tan arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Big Zac Tan!
