Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Poz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glass Jim!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jim leaves Poz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jim drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Poz defends it well.

Jim has Poz up against the cage in a clinch.

Jim breaks the clinch.

Jim darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Poz manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Jim keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jim told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Poz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Poz is trying to pull guard but Jim has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Poz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Poz is looking to take this one to the mat.

Poz lands a takedown into guard.
Poz is standing up over Jim. Jim looks to escape but Poz dives into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Jim is trying to escape the position but Poz is controlling the position.
Poz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Poz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jim is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Poz happy to just control the position for now.
Poz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Poz advances nicely into full mount.
Poz controlling the pace for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Poz is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Jim is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Poz has taken his back!
Poz controls the action.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Poz dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Poz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Poz passes the guard and advances to mount!
Poz controlling from the full mount.

Poz stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Poz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jim can do to turn this around?

Jim shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Poz has one foot on Jim's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Jim slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Jim shoots in and gets a takedown into Poz's guard.

Poz has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jim off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Poz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jim flicks out a counter leg kick but Poz steps away.

Poz takes one to the side of the head.
Glass Jim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jim circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Poz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Poz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jim won't allow Poz to pass to mount.
Poz is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Poz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jim for as long as he can get away with.

Poz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Poz stalling.
Poz continues to stall.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Poz looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Poz trying to control the pace.
More hug and hope from Poz.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Poz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jim is trying to defend but Poz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Poz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Poz passes to full mount!

Poz throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Jim has his hands clasped together but Poz breaks the hold and Jim is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Poz!
