This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 6 losses; Yuri Boshtok! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 3 losses; Bazar Al Jhit!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Boshtok fails to land the takedown.

Al Jhit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Boshtok's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Al Jhit goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Boshtok has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Al Jhit but great work by Boshtok.

Boshtok perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Boshtok frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Boshtok takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Al Jhit is looking to control Boshtok's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Al Jhit avoid being mounted?

Boshtok looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Boshtok has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Boshtok seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Al Jhit for as long as he can get away with.

Al Jhit wins on points by 13 to 9.
A very excited looking Bazar Al Jhit made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
