CACC 244 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 6 losses; Vito Scaletta! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 8 losses; Torcadall Sailcirc!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Sailcirc shoots in looking for a takedown. Scaletta tries to sprawl out of it but Sailcirc keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scaletta manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Scaletta stuffs the takedown.
Sailcirc tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Scaletta defends well and Sailcirc ends up having to push Scaletta into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Vito Scaletta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Torcadall Sailcirc.

It looks like Sailcirc might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Scaletta drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Scaletta seems to have locked his on tight now - Sailcirc screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Scaletta, as he picks up the win!
