Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between New Breed One (ranked 499 p4p, 882 weight class) and Gervais Lavigne (ranked 28 p4p, 51 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, New Breed One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gervais Lavigne!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by One.
One feinted with a counter takedown.

One feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lavigne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lavigne is looking to advance position but One won't allow it.
One trying to control but Lavigne postures up.
One is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lavigne is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
One tries to roll over but Lavigne keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Lavigne cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
One moves out of range as Lavigne strikes.
Lavigne missing with a left hand there. One was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
One shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lavigne as he avoids it easily.
Lavigne connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

One is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lavigne's half guard.
Lavigne is not content to let One control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

One is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lavigne doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time One.

One is looking for a kimura but Lavigne is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for One to get the leverage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Lavigne stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lavigne wants it to stay on the feet.
Lavigne moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
One shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lavigne defends it nicely.
One missing with a left hand there. Lavigne was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Lavigne looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Lavigne defends well against a solid takedown attempt from One.

Lavigne thuds a left hand into One's body.

Lavigne lands a big head kick that sends One tumbling to the mat! Lavigne takes a step backwards and waves One back to his feet - he wants the finish!

One is rocked!
Gervais Lavigne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lavigne drops One with a straight left! Oh this is bad for One! Lavigne dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gervais Lavigne!
Gervais Lavigne decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
