Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Scott (ranked 1246 p4p, 2559 weight class) and Alonnus Parker (ranked 177 p4p, 320 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alonnus Parker!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott scores with a nice head shot.

It looks like Alonnus Parker has been cut.
Scott misses with a two punch combination.
Parker drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Scott defends it well.
Scott cracks Parker with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Scott rushes Parker and presses him up against the cage.
Parker tries for a takedown but Scott manages to get underhooks.

Scott has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Parker clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Parker wants to escape the position.
Scott has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Parker's body.
Parker is trying to get back to his feet but Scott has full control of the position and if anything, Parker has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Scott slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Scott has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Parker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

What can Parker do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Scott thows a strike but Parker uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Parker as he ends up in Scott 's guard!

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Scott has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scott escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Parker throws a big elbow that misses.

Scott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Parker is aware though and is defending well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Scott is on top in guard.

Scott not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Parker is trying to keep Scott in close.
Scott works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Scott is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Parker is pressing down on Scott's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Parker has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Scott has passed into side control.
You can see the frustration on Parker's face as Scott controls the position.
Parker is looking to regain half guard here but Scott keeps moving and retains side control.
Scott is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Parker's shoulder. That is not cool.
Scott postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Parker is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Scott asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Scott moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Alonnus Parker's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Scott takes a swing at Parker's ribcage but misses.
Scott dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Parker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Scott!

Parker is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Scott managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Parker.

Scott can't do much from the bottom here.
Scott is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Parker is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

David Scott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Parker avoids the attempt from Scott to control.

Scott takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Scott tries to hold on but Parker postures up.
Parker lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Scott hang on?
Scott sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Scott gets back to full guard.

Parker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Scott working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Parker lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Scott is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Parker can do to turn this around?

Parker trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Scott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Parker defends it easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Scott's head.
Scott seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Scott is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Scott looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Parker is sitting in close to Scott's body. Scott has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Parker is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Parker is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Scott.
