The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavelle circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kot Leopold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leopold tries to clinch up.
Leopold tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lavelle paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lavelle has Leopold up against the cage in a clinch.

Leopold's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Leopold decides to return to a standing position.

Lavelle is looking to break free of the clinch but Leopold has double underhooks.

Leopold fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lavelle, pushing him back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Leopold lands an elbow that stopped Lavelle in his tracks for a moment.
Lavelle is trying to drag Leopold to the mat but Leopold just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Leopold creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Lavelle's defenses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
