Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pat Poutine (ranked 3556 p4p, 2300 weight class) and Julio Balestrin (ranked 0 p4p, 319 weight class). Pat Poutine looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poutine misses with a takedown
and Balestrin counters with a right hand to the body.
Poutine has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Balestrin.
Poutine is breathing heavily.

Balestrin dives in and scores a takedown into Poutine's guard.
My spies in Muay Thai and BJJ | Clinchwork inform me that Balestrin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Balestrin throws an elbow that misses. Poutine uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Balestrin's guard. Nice move by Poutine!

Balestrin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Poutine is aware though and is defending well.

Balestrin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poutine defends well.
Poutine stops Balestrin from standing up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Poutine is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Balestrin just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Poutine has gone limp and this one is over!
