Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Moose McKinley (ranked 4516 p4p, 4684 weight class) and John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Moose McKinley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McKinley gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

McKinley pulls guard successfully.
McKinley keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from McKinley.
McKinley working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Johnson.
McKinley keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass.
McKinley not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McKinley is adopting a defensive guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson wants to control from the top but McKinley keeps moving.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

McKinley thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

McKinley drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.

McKinley tightens his grip and picks Johnson up, before dumping him to the ground. Johnson manages to land in guard.
McKinley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.
McKinley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
McKinley is working hard here to advance position.
McKinley trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McKinley has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.

McKinley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McKinley wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

McKinley has gone for a leg lock! Johnson slips out almost immediately though and dives into McKinley's guard.


McKinley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Johnson trying to control but McKinley is working from the bottom.

McKinley is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.

McKinley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but McKinley is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McKinley throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
McKinley wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

McKinley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Johnson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Johnson trying to hold on to McKinley's head to control him but McKinley postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Moose McKinley dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

McKinley tries a head kick but it misses.
And Johnson tries to counter it with a takedown but McKinley pushes his down on his head and steps out.

McKinley darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Johnson moves into full guard.

McKinley avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McKinley is aware though and is defending well.
McKinley wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Johnson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but McKinley frees his head nicely. Oh but Johnson has switched to an armbar! McKinley is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
