This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 0 losses; Giuseppe Turturro! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 32 wins and 27 losses; Mike Schultz! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Turturro darts in and clinches Schultz up against the cage. Schultz goes for a takedown attempt but Turturro pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Schultz is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. It looks like Schultz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Turturro tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Schultz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Turturro is looking to reverse the position. Schultz slows the pace down. Schultz tries to move to mount but Turturro blocks the move with his legs. Turturro tries to bench press Schultz off him but Schultz keeps the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schultz happy to just control the position for now. Schultz tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Turturro is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turturro can't do much from the bottom here.

Turturro keeping moving, preventing Schultz from controlling successfully.
