This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 22 losses; Tigran Minasian! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 9 losses; Wutang Lee! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Minasian closes the distance and clinches up with Lee, looking for a takedown. Minasian pushes Lee against the cage but Lee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nice takedown defense from Lee. No joy for Minasian on that attempt. Minasian gets in close and instigates a clinch. Minasian tries for a takedown but Lee manages to get underhooks.
Lee's coach down at CT was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tigran Minasian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee has hold of one of Minasian's legs. Minasian is fighting the takedown attempt but Lee gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Minasian (0) vs (2) Lee Minasian has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though. Minasian tries to land a sweep but no joy. Minasian is controlling Lee's posture. Lee engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minasian is trying to control the position but Lee postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Minasian pulls Lee in to control the position. Lee controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Lee looking to pass the guard. Lee looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Minasian is trying to keep Lee in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Minasian wants to get back to full guard but Lee has passed into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Minasian (0) vs (5) Lee Minasian tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Minasian gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Minasian is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Well, if Lee is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's five minutes gone in the round. Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Minasian is retaining full guard. Minasian controls Lee momentarily but Lee frees himself. Lee looking to improve position, pressing down on Minasian's thigh with his hand. Minasian seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Lee paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Lee's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Minasian picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
