This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 6 losses; Alen Ohanian! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 13 losses; David Yung! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Yung misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yung closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ohanian circles away. Ohanian attempts a counter takedown but Yung avoids it well and moves away. Ohanian leaves Yung with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Alen Ohanian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Yung. Yung dives in for a single leg takedown but Ohanian sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Yung is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Ohanian stands and throws Yung's legs to the side, diving into side control. Yung tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ohanian thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ohanian tries to move to mount but Yung blocks the move with his legs.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Ohanian wants to control but Yung is keeping him busy. Ohanian working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Yung might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ohanian haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Ohanian is trying to get an arm triangle but Yung is defending well.
