This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 17 wins and 12 losses; Ono Kuronoa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Zhang Jun!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Jun shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kuronoa pinned against the cage. Kuronoa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Jun changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kuronoa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee asks Jun politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jun prefers to stall for the moment though.

It looks like Jun might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Jun has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Zhang Jun decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
