This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 5 losses; Sacha Gardet! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Vladimir Konstantinov!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Konstantinov drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gardet has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Konstantinov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gardet.

Gardet wants to control but Konstantinov postures up.
Gardet tries to bench press Konstantinov off him but Konstantinov keeps the position.
Gardet is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Foundry, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Konstantinov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Konstantinov wants to control the pace but Gardet is squirming around nicely.

Gardet stops Konstantinov from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Gardet tries to reverse the position but Konstantinov maintains control.
Gardet tries to control Konstantinov's body but Konstantinov pushes him off. Gardet squirms to his side and now Konstantinov has his back!

Konstantinov keeps control of the position as Gardet tries to break free.
Konstantinov is riding his opponent, not letting Gardet buck him off.
You can see the frustration on Gardet's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
I would not like to be Gardet right now.

Konstantinov has the hooks in. Gardet is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Konstantinov doesn't have the hooks in and Gardet manages to turn into his guard.

Konstantinov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Gardet jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Konstantinov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Konstantinov and Gardet has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gardet is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gardet is looking to advance position but Konstantinov has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Gardet sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Konstantinov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gardet doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Konstantinov.
Gardet moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gardet looking for a sweep. Not yet Gardet, not yet.
Gardet has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Gardet wants to sweep here but Konstantinov controlling him for the moment.

Gardet looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Konstantinov has picked Gardet up and slammed him! Gardet can't keep hold of the triangle and Konstantinov manages to pass to side control!
