This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 7 losses; Eddie Gelfen! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 11 losses; Karelin Pripyat! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pripyat has managed to clinch.
Pripyat pulls guard successfully.
Pripyat keeping moving, preventing Gelfen from controlling successfully. Gelfen passes Pripyat's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gelfen trying to control from half guard but Pripyat is working away. The fighters are battling for position here. Pripyat manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Pripyat not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pripyat trying to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pripyat wants to sweep but no luck. Gelfen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gelfen has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pripyat to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gelfen is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pripyat pulls down on the head and he's put Gelfen to sleep! This one is all over!
