Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sylus Sativa (ranked 670 p4p, 1532 weight class) and Pablo Cruz (ranked 71 p4p, 154 weight class). Cruz has chosen I Go to Rio as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pablo Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz blocks a head kick by Sativa.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cruz! But no joy.
Cruz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sativa on the side of the head.
Sativa scores with a hook to the body. Cruz takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sativa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cruz.
Sativa misses with a looping left.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Cruz checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sativa scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Cruz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cruz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Cruz connects with a crisp jab.
Sativa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hardman MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Cruz throws a hook to the side of Sativa's head but Sativa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sativa throws a series of punches but Cruz moves out of range.
Cruz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sativa avoids the body shot from Cruz.
Sativa is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Sativa misses the jab.
Sativa scores with a sloppy right hand. Cruz should have avoided that one.
Sativa needs to keep his hands up - Cruz had a free shot at his head there.

Sativa dips to his left and cracks Cruz with an uppercut!
Sativa throws a nice outside leg kick.

Cruz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sativa.
Sativa tries to close the distance and clinch but Cruz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Sativa is rocked!
Sativa gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Cruz gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Sativa is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pablo Cruz!
