Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tom Bickle (ranked 22854 p4p, 5778 weight class) and Samuel Cooke (ranked 519 p4p, 433 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cooke's choice of entrance music: Harm's Way - Warriors Will Reign. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Bickle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Cooke! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Bickle misses its intended target. Bickle ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cooke moves away. Cooke feints the counter takedown. Bickle throws a good cross that connects.
Bickle lands with a shot to the body. Bickle misses with a looping right. Jab from Bickle. Cooke takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bickle lands with an uppercut that bounces Cooke off the cage and back into range. Bickle ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cooke moves away. Cooke feints the counter takedown. Bickle lands a nice looking body shot.

Cooke tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Bickle throws a body shot but no joy. Bickle connects with a single shot there. and Cooke counters with a single leg into guard. Bickle didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cooke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cooke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cooke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bickle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cooke has Bickle in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bickle is looking to stand up but Cooke won't let him. Cooke with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Bickle can't handle though.
Bickle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bickle wants to stand but Cooke has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Cooke throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Cooke is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Bickle to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Bickle wants to stand up but Cooke is controlling him. Bickle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cooke on the ground. Bickle has control of Cooke's left arm, preventing Cooke from doing any damage. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Cooke with the counter takedown but Bickle avoids it easily. Cooke uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bickle. Cooke takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Tom Bickle is winning the standup battle so far. Bickle throws the left hand but Cooke avoids the punch easily. And Cooke tries to counter it with a takedown but Bickle pushes his down on his head and steps out. Bickle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cooke can do to turn this around? Bickle cracks Cooke with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Bickle misses with a looping right. Samuel Cooke has got the better of the ground game so far. Bickle is looking for a sweep. Cooke is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cooke seems to be working for a kimura but Bickle defends the submission attempt. Cooke looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cooke looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Cooke is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bickle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cooke working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bickle is trying to get back to half guard. Cooke is looking for a kimura. Cooke is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bickle fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cooke on the side of the head. Cooke is still on wobbly legs! Can Bickle finish him? Bickle jabs at Cooke's body. Tom Bickle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good standup being displayed there by Bickle as he connects with a hook. Bickle throws a jab but it's blocked by Cooke. And Cooke tries to counter it with a takedown but Bickle pushes his down on his head and steps out. Samuel Cooke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. And that's the end of the fight! Tom Bickle showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bickle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
