Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifford Val Salvacion (ranked 24107 p4p, 23841 weight class) and Poison Ivy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poison Ivy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Clifford Val Salvacion's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 24 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clifford Val Salvacion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Poison Ivy!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Salvacion looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ivy is fending him off so far but Salvacion persists. Nope, Ivy circles away and we're back to standing.

Ivy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee asks Ivy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ivy prefers to stall for the moment though.

Ivy stands up and beckons Salvacion to his feet.

Ivy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Salvacion to the ground. Ivy is now in Salvacion's guard.
Ivy is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Salvacion looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Ivy tries to stand but Salvacion is controlling from the bottom.
Salvacion controls Ivy momentarily but Ivy frees himself.
Ivy wants to get up but he can't break Salvacion's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ivy is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Ivy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Salvacion has a takedown stuffed.
Despite the aggression on Ivy's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Salvacion gets caught napping as Ivy dives in and scores a takedown. Salvacion manages to retain guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ivy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ivy looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ivy wanted to stand there but Salvacion had control of the position.
Salvacion controls Ivy momentarily but Ivy frees himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ivy looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Poison Ivy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ivy lands a nice looking kick to the body. Salvacion takes a step back to recover.
Salvacion dives in and grabs Ivy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ivy pushes down on Salvacion's head and hops out.
And Ivy responds with a good body kick, but Salvacion manages to step out the way in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion shoots for a double leg takedown but Ivy sprawls well. He's pushed Salvacion's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ivy is trying to counter with his kicks.

Ivy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Salvacion did well to prevent Ivy getting side control.

Ivy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Ivy tries to stand and escape but Salvacion is controlling the position.
Still in half guard, Ivy seems content to control.

Ivy is working for a kimura but Salvacion is defending it quite comfortably.
Ivy is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ivy seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ivy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Salvacion's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Salvacion can't do much from the bottom here.
Salvacion is looking for a sweep.
Ivy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Ivy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Ivy stands up.
Ivy misses with a body shot.
Salvacion is looking to counter with a body kick.

Ivy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Salvacion's half guard.
Ivy stalling.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ivy is working away from the top position though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Poison Ivy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Ivy gets caught flat footed, as Salvacion shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Salvacion stops Ivy from standing up.
Poison Ivy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Salvacion seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ivy pulls Salvacion in close to prevent any damage.

Ivy wriggles free and stands up.
Salvacion displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ivy.
Ivy shoots for a takedown but Salvacion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Salvacion is looking to counter with a body kick.

Salvacion fails with a takedown attempt.
Ivy counters with a body kick.
Nice body kick there by Ivy.

Salvacion shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ivy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Salvacion looking to sit in guard and control but Ivy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ivy wants to stand but Salvacion has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Salvacion is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Salvacion wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Poison Ivy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ivy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Salvacion is proving hard to escape from.
Clifford Val Salvacion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ivy content to stall in guard here.

Poison Ivy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ivy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
