Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and EL GUAPO (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniels comes to the cage accompanied by Marinda Lambert - Jack Daniels. Jack Daniels has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, EL GUAPO!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GUAPO fails in his attempt to clinch.

GUAPO shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Daniels's guard.
Daniels on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Daniels tries to get out of the position.

Daniels looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
GUAPO pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daniels is keeping the position for now.
Daniels is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daniels really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Daniels looking to hit a scissor sweep but GUAPO is one step ahead there.

GUAPO tries to free his leg and advance position but Daniels is retaining full guard.
Daniels trying to keep a closed guard but GUAPO is proving a slippery customer.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Daniels holds on and takes a little breather.
Daniels is trying to control the position but GUAPO postures up.

Daniels working for a triangle but GUAPO defends it easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
GUAPO tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Daniels paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Horrible takedown by GUAPO or perhaps it was just good defense by Daniels which made him look bad.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Daniels!
Daniels has his takedown stuffed
and GUAPO counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

GUAPO moves into the clinch.
GUAPO wants a takedown.
Daniels looking for a takedown.
Daniels keeps control of GUAPO as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Daniels tries for a takedown but GUAPO manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daniels is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Daniels is breathing heavily.
GUAPO has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Daniels is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
GUAPO wants a takedown.
GUAPO missing with knees to the body.
Daniels is working for takedown but GUAPO is calmly controlling the position for now.
GUAPO wants to break the clinch but can't.
GUAPO gets underhooks to prevent Daniels's takedown attempt.

Daniels jumps guard.
GUAPO in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Daniels tries to land a sweep but no joy.

GUAPO trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom.
GUAPO has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Daniels is proving hard to escape from.

GUAPO is looking to stand up but Daniels won't let him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Daniels is pulling down on GUAPO's head. It's preventing any offense from GUAPO, at least for the moment.
Daniels tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but EL GUAPO will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


GUAPO gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Daniels counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
GUAPO tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
GUAPO trying to get back to full guard but Daniels takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Daniels will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
GUAPO can't escape the position.
Daniels trying to control but he's not successful this time.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Daniels here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Daniels lands a heavy elbow.
GUAPO is breathing heavily.
GUAPO is squirming around, avoiding Daniels's attempts to control the action.
Daniels takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

GUAPO is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Daniels controlling his opponent.
Daniels postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. GUAPO looks a forlorn figure.

Daniels swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and GUAPO is now in Daniels's guard. A big mistake from Daniels there, giving up the dominant position!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
GUAPO trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Daniels is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
GUAPO loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
GUAPO won't allow Daniels to sweep him here.

Daniels is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Daniels looking for a sweep. Not yet Daniels, not yet.

Daniels is working hard here to advance position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
GUAPO connects with a body shot.
Daniels dodges the punch combination from GUAPO.

Daniels drives through and clinches with GUAPO against the cage.
GUAPO is looking to break free of the clinch but Daniels has double underhooks.
GUAPO is trying to break the clinch but Daniels has him pressed against the cage.
Daniels is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Daniels fails to pull guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Daniels breaks the clinch.
Daniels moves out of range of the body kick from GUAPO.
Daniels closes the distance and lands a one-two.
GUAPO with a poor takedown

and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Daniels working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Daniels is looking for a kimura but GUAPO is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Daniels to get the leverage.
GUAPO is trying to stand.
Daniels thows a huge punch but GUAPO dodges it nicely.
Daniels is trying to control the action in half guard but GUAPO is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
GUAPO is in trouble now - Daniels has advanced to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Daniels dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


GUAPO shoots in for a double leg but Daniels sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Daniels swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Daniels feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Daniels stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. GUAPO swivels though and keeps the full guard.

GUAPO looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
GUAPO working a defensive guard here.
Daniels is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Daniels wants to control from the top but GUAPO keeps moving.
Daniels is stalling in the full guard.
Jack Daniels overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
GUAPO looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Daniels throws a big right hand that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Left hook, right uppercut from Daniels.
GUAPO misses with a takedown

and Daniels counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Daniels is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Daniels passes GUAPO's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Daniels sitting and controlling from the half guard.
GUAPO is refusing to be controlled, as Daniels sits in half guard.
Daniels throwing shots but GUAPO is blocking nicely.

GUAPO tries to get to full guard but Daniels has control of the leg.
GUAPO wants to get back to his feet.

Daniels takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
GUAPO has hold of Daniels's hands but Daniels slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Daniels clinches with his opponent.

Daniels tightens his grip and picks GUAPO up, before dumping him to the ground. GUAPO manages to land in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Daniels passes into half guard.
Daniels tries to pass the half guard into mount. GUAPO knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
GUAPO gets back to full guard.
GUAPO is looking to stand up but Daniels isn't so interested in that idea.
GUAPO trying to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Daniels showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Daniels has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
