Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Muto Ryuuji (ranked 4391 p4p, 4354 weight class) and Doug Funny (ranked 476 p4p, 0 weight class). Funny has chosen Throw some D's on it as his entrance music. Muto Ryuuji has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muto Ryuuji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doug Funny!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryuuji moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Doug Funny has been cut.
Ryuuji swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Funny counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ryuuji can't keep his opponent in guard - Funny advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Funny stands up and beckons Ryuuji to join him on the feet.

and Funny counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Ryuuji!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Ryuuji's face as Funny controls the position.

Funny seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ryuuji knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Funny on the ground.
Ryuuji tries to kick Funny off but Funny keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Funny takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ryuuji is trying to stand up here but Funny is controlling him well.
Ryuuji has hold of Funny's hands but Funny slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Funny is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Funny takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Ryuuji on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Ryuuji is not content to let Funny control the position.
Funny stops Ryuuji from getting back to his feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Funny connects with a nice short shot to Ryuuji's temple.
Funny working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Funny wants to control from the top but Ryuuji keeps moving.
Ryuuji will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Funny passes Ryuuji's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Funny is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Funny works his way into side control.

Ryuuji pushes Funny away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Funny gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Funny wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ryuuji keeps working.

Funny stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ryuuji looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ryuuji is breathing heavily.
Funny is looking to take a break and control but Ryuuji is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ryuuji on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ryuuji tries to get out of the position.
Funny moves nicely into side control.
Funny wants to control but Ryuuji is keeping him busy.
Funny works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Funny trying to control the position but Ryuuji is working away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ryuuji is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Ryuuji's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ryuuji rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Funny moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Funny has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Funny decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ryuuji to his feet.

Ryuuji throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Funny counters with a single leg into guard. Ryuuji didn't expect that.

Funny is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Funny keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ryuuji's head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Funny stays in close to Ryuuji's body and controls the position.

Ryuuji is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Funny scores with a couple of nice shots.

Ryuuji is rocked!
Funny lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Ryuuji! More strikes land and this one is all over! Funny jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Our winner, Doug Funny, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
