Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robert Frost (ranked 1813 p4p, 2223 weight class) and Akira Tatakai (ranked 109 p4p, 135 weight class). Frost comes to the cage accompanied by SETH ECT - B.L.A.S.T. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Akira Tatakai!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatakai works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Frost fails with the takedown.
Frost throws a nice head kick!
Tatakai connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Frost moves into the clinch.
Frost has Tatakai pushed against the cage.
Tatakai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Frost's elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frost blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Tatakai misses with a body punch.
Tatakai stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Frost pushes Tatakai back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Frost is looking to take this one to the mat.

Frost is trying to trip Tatakai. He has hold of a leg but Tatakai is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Frost persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Frost's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tatakai looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frost trying to control but Tatakai is working from the bottom.
Frost controlling from the top position.
Frost trying to control but Tatakai is working from the bottom.
Tatakai is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tatakai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Frost is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Tatakai is rocked!

Frost drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Frost seems to have locked his on tight now - Tatakai screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Frost, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Robert Frost!
An out of breath Robert Frost thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
