PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lincoln Storm (ranked 511 p4p, 239 weight class) and Graham Mantle (ranked 63 p4p, 30 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lincoln Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Graham Mantle!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mantle manages to avoid it.
Mantle lands a nice looking body shot.
Mantle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Storm swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A slapping leg kick lands for Storm.
Storm throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Storm doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Mantle takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Mantle lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Storm at a distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for Mantle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lincoln Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A nice side step and Mantle releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

The fighters circle momentarily. Storm darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That was a close round but I would say that Lincoln Storm will probably get the nod.

Storm stuffs the takedown attempt from Mantle. Mantle gets slowly back to his feet.

and Mantle counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Storm shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mantle eats them both and turns towards Storm to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Mantle throws a lazy right hand but Storm sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Storm looks to land a left hand but Mantle moved out of range nicely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mantle connects with a nice short shot to Storm's temple.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mantle working his ground and pound in the gym.

Mantle goes for a takedown attempt but Storm pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

I would just about give that final round to Graham Mantle.
