Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Tripp (ranked 465 p4p, 734 weight class) and Konichiwa Jempsa (ranked 73 p4p, 110 weight class). Konichiwa Jempsa is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, CJ Tripp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Konichiwa Jempsa! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jempsa shoots in but no luck this time. Horrible takedown attempt by Jempsa or perhaps it was just good defense by Tripp, which made it look bad. Tripp lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jempsa's sensitive parts. Tripp gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jempsa. Jempsa clobbers Tripp with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Konichiwa Jempsa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jempsa closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
It looks like Konichiwa Jempsa has been cut. Tripp wants to slow Jempsa down by chopping away at his legs. Jempsa fails with the takedown and Tripp counters with a good, hard body kick but Jempsa shrugs it off. We've been told by Tripp's head coaches at Ryōzanpaku Dojo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. CJ Tripp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konichiwa Jempsa. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jempsa goes for a double leg but Tripp avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tripp continues to drive forward. Jempsa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tripp napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tripp is looking for a sweep. A lull in the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jempsa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tripp keeps working. Jempsa controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tripp is not content to let Jempsa control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tripp struggling a bit here. Jempsa tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tripp is trying to control Jempsa's posture but Jempsa avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jempsa misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Tripp is looking to regain half guard here but Jempsa keeps moving and retains side control. Jempsa looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Tripp is avoiding damage well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Tripp lands a leg kick that knocks Jempsa off balance momentarily. Jempsa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Tripp counter with a right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jempsa shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tripp napping and manages to drive through into side control! Jempsa wants to control but Tripp is keeping him busy. Jempsa has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Shut Up & Train! {$1000}. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Jempsa controlling from side mount. Jempsa throws an elbow but Tripp slips to the side and avoids it well. Tripp is letting Jempsa control him for a moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jempsa trying to control the position but Tripp is working away. Tripp is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that CJ Tripp will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Konichiwa Jempsa's cut. That's time! Tripp's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Jempsa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tripp pinned against the cage. Tripp gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Jempsa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tripp.
Jempsa tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tripp defends well and Jempsa ends up having to push Tripp into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Tripp misses with a body shot.
Jempsa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tripp defends it nicely. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. CJ Tripp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konichiwa Jempsa. Jempsa lunges at Tripp with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tripp's hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jempsa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Tripp. Tripp lands with an uppercut that bounces Jempsa off the cage and back into range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jempsa scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Jempsa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jempsa connects with a nice short shot to Tripp's temple. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Jempsa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jempsa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tripp works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jempsa engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Jempsa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tripp is trying to control the position but Jempsa postures up. Konichiwa Jempsa has got the better of the ground game so far. Tripp pulls Jempsa in close to prevent any damage. Jempsa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jempsa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Jempsa looks like he wants to counter punch here. Jempsa has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Tripp. A lazy body kick from Tripp and Jempsa counters with a shoot takedown. Tripp fights it but they end up in guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Konichiwa Jempsa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Konichiwa Jempsa's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Tripp takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jempsa shoots in for a takedown but Tripp shows good takedown defense. Jempsa sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Jempsa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jempsa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tripp manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Tripp has his feet on Jempsa's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jempsa ducks under a wild hook from Tripp. CJ Tripp is winning the standup battle so far. Tripp punishes Jempsa's body with a nice straight punch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jempsa scores with a jab to the body. Jempsa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tripp counters with a low kick, right behind Jempsa 's knee. CJ Tripp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konichiwa Jempsa.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tripp stuffs the takedown attempt from Jempsa. Jempsa gets slowly back to his feet. A shot to the body from Jempsa misses and Tripp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tripp uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Jempsa with a lazy takedown attempt and Tripp makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Jempsa blocks a leg kick. Tripp displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jempsa. A good leg kick by Tripp. Tripp throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jempsa has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jempsa there as he acknowledges the shot. CJ Tripp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tripp misses with an uppercut. Jempsa saw that one coming. Tripp throws a jab but it's blocked by Jempsa. Jempsa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Tripp quickly recovers to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tripp is refusing to be controlled, as Jempsa sits in half guard. Tripp is looking to control Jempsa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tripp avoid being mounted? Jempsa tries to pass to full mount but Tripp defends it. Tripp tries to roll over but Jempsa keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jempsa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jempsa with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Tripp is concentrating on defense, preventing Jempsa from advancing position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tripp looks to land a body kick but Jempsa moved away. Jempsa fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tripp stuffs the takedown attempt from Jempsa. Jempsa gets slowly back to his feet. Jempsa fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jempsa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tripp sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jempsa somewhat. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Tripp - that will leave a mark!
Jempsa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tripp moves away. Nice body kick there by Tripp. Jempsa scores with a shot to the body.
Jempsa pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tripp is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Tripp lets loose with a powerful body kick. Jempsa will feel that in the morning. A thudding body kick lands there by Tripp!
Jempsa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Tripp lands a jab-cross combination.
And that's the end of the fight! CJ Tripp showed his dominance in that final round. I think Tripp has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
