Nogueira Jr comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle-Guns N Roses. Edwin Nogueira Jr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Chavez throws a right and a left that Nogueira Jr avoids nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Chavez clinches up with Nogueira Jr and pushes him back against the cage.

Nogueira Jr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Chavez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Chavez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nogueira Jr has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chavez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nogueira Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chavez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Chavez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Chavez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Nogueira Jr is proving hard to escape from.

Nogueira Jr is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Chavez rolls with it to try and escape but Nogueira Jr cranks on the arm and Chavez is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
