Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Kaloev (ranked 805 p4p, 1402 weight class) and Ante Pavlovic (ranked 118 p4p, 206 weight class). Ante Pavlovic will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdul Kaloev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ante Pavlovic!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pavlovic defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kaloev.
Pavlovic connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kaloev momentarily.
Kaloev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pavlovic counters with a nice uppercut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pavlovic has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kaloev misses with a takedown
and Pavlovic counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdul Kaloev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kaloev.

Kaloev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pavlovic's guard.

Kaloev is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Kaloev drops back looking for a leg! Pavlovic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pavlovic manages to kick Kaloev off! Kaloev jumps back into Pavlovic's guard.
Kaloev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kaloev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pavlovic swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pavlovic trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaloev wants to control from the top but Pavlovic keeps moving.

Kaloev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kaloev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pavlovic swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kaloev works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kaloev is trying to control the action in half guard but Pavlovic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaloev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pavlovic keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pavlovic can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kaloev wants to free his trapped foot but Pavlovic is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kaloev is trying to control the action in half guard but Pavlovic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kaloev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pavlovic pinned against the cage. Pavlovic gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pavlovic ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kaloev moves away.

enabling Pavlovic to counter with a crisp jab.
Kaloev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pavlovic swivels and escapes.
Pavlovic scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Pavlovic looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Pavlovic tries to clinch there but Kaloev circles away.
Kaloev uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pavlovic.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pavlovic scores with a punch to the head.
Kaloev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pavlovic defends well and Kaloev ends up having to push Pavlovic into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Pavlovic presses Kaloev against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pavlovic lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Kaloev.
Kaloev goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pavlovic prevents it.
Kaloev is breathing heavily.

Pavlovic digs a right hand underneath Kaloev's ribcage. Kaloev let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Kaloev takes a shot to the head.
A left hand lands to the body for Pavlovic.
Pavlovic lands with a left to the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pavlovic.
Pavlovic lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kaloev backwards.
Pavlovic lands a right hand.
Pavlovic lands with a right to the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Pavlovic.
Nice body punch from Pavlovic.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ante Pavlovic dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Pavlovic throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Pavlovic fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kaloev takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Kaloev is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kaloev gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Pavlovic gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Kaloev is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ante Pavlovic!
A very excited looking Ante Pavlovic made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
