Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Diego Carrera (ranked 4228 p4p, 3990 weight class) and William S Burroughs (ranked 523 p4p, 504 weight class). Juan Diego Carrera had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Burroughs misses the target.
Burroughs checks the leg kick.
Carrera bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
A slapping body kick lands there for Carrera.
Carrera looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Carrera wants to slow Burroughs down by chopping away at his legs.
Burroughs wants to counter the offense by Carrera and move into the clinch position.
Carrera misses with a head kick.
A nice side step and Burroughs releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Carrera avoids the body shot from Burroughs.
Carrera buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Carrera wants to clinch.

Burroughs shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Carrera is looking to improve his position.

Burroughs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carrera with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Burroughs looks to land a strike but Carrera avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Carrera thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Burroughs wants to control from the top but Carrera keeps moving.

Burroughs throws a strike but Carrera rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Burroughs has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Carrera has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Burroughs has a couple of punches blocked by Carrera.
Carrera blocks a body shot from Burroughs.

Carrera breaks the clinch.
Carrera slips a straight right by Burroughs.
Burroughs throws a right and a left that Carrera avoids nicely.
Carrera tries a head kick but it misses.
Burroughs tries to counter with a clinch but Carrera shakes him off and moves away.
Carrera looks to land a body kick but Burroughs moved away.
Carrera sets himself, and Burroughs steps forward looking for the clinch! Carrera avoids it this time.
Burroughs takes a kick to the side of the head.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Burroughs crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Carrera - the referee stops the clock and Burroughs gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Carrera. Burroughs manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Carrera throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carrera throws a sloppy head kick and Burroughs moves out of range easily.
Carrera misses with a body kick.
Burroughs wants to counter with a clinch but Carrera pushes him away.
A left lands for Burroughs.
Carrera is looking to clinch.

Carrera gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burroughs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Burroughs throwing strikes but missing.
Carrera trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Burroughs lands a couple of digs.
Burroughs working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Carrera keeping moving, preventing Burroughs from controlling successfully.
Burroughs might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carrera haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Burroughs throws a big right hand that misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Carrera lands with a slapping head kick.
Carrera tried to score with a low kick but Burroughs checks it.
As Carrera backs off Burroughs throws a huge counter combo but Carrera manages to avoid it all.

Burroughs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carrera to the mat! Carrera manages to get full guard.
Carrera is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Burroughs dives into side control.

Burroughs throws a strike aimed at the side of Carrera's head but Carrera avoids it well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carrera is working to avoid the ground and pound but Burroughs connects with a decent elbow.
Burroughs wants to control but Carrera is keeping him busy.
Burroughs lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Carrera down.

Burroughs in side control, throwing shots but Carrera defends.
The ground and pound from Burroughs seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Burroughs cracks Carrera with a big right hand but Carrera just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Burroughs connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Carrera some visible discomfort.
Carrera is not content to let Burroughs control the position.

Burroughs working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Burroughs is looking to take a break and control but Carrera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Burroughs cracks Carrera with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Burroughs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Burroughs lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Carrera is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Burroughs! Carrera is hurt baaadly! Burroughs is firing away with more strikes - Carrera is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
