Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Neves (ranked 1438 p4p, 724 weight class) and Saul Goodman (ranked 43 p4p, 20 weight class). Bruno Neves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruno Neves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saul Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neves drops his hands momentarily and Goodman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Bruno Neves has been cut.
Good leg kick by Goodman.
Nice shot lands for Goodman.
Neves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Goodman as he avoids it easily.
Neves misses the shot to the body.
Neves moves forwards but Goodman connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Neves throws a hook but Goodman blocks it.
Goodman throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Goodman is looking to score with low kicks.
Goodman thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Neves if he has to take too many more of those.
Neves's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Goodman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Neves scrambles back to his feet.
Saul Goodman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neves swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Neves takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Neves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Goodman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Neves presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Goodman gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Neves.
Goodman cracks Neves with a nice body shot.
Neves is breathing heavily.

Goodman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Goodman closes the distance and clinches.

Goodman doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Goodman misses with a punch to the body.
Neves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Goodman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruno Neves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Goodman tries to stall but Neves uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Goodman misses with a short punch on the inside.

Neves gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Neves definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Neves is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Goodman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Neves is working away from the top position though.
Goodman is controlling Neves's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Neves not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goodman regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Neves.
Goodman tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Neves is stalling in the full guard.
Goodman keeping moving, preventing Neves from controlling successfully.
Neves wants to pass the guard but Goodman is keeping the position.
Goodman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Neves controls the pace.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Neves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Neves bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Goodman stops Neves from passing to mount.
Neves working the ground and pound but Goodman is defending the strikes.
Neves grinds an elbow into Goodman's temple.

Neves wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Goodman, who protects the arm well.
Neves trying to control the position but Goodman is working away.
Goodman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Goodman is trying to control Neves's posture but Neves avoids it.
Neves will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goodman avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Neves.
Neves wants to control but Goodman is keeping him busy.

Goodman stops Neves from passing to mount.
Neves has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Goodman!
Neves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Neves looking to control but Goodman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Goodman is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neves wants to control but Goodman has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

Neves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Goodman's head.
Neves controlling the action here.
Neves has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Neves thowing shots but they're missing.
Goodman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neves cracks Goodman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Neves throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Neves with the ground and pound from mount.
Goodman is squirming around, avoiding Neves's attempts to control the action.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Neves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Goodman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A left lands for Goodman.
Goodman scores with a body shot.
Goodman tries to bum rush Neves with a series of wild strikes but Neves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Goodman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Neves. That did some damage!
Goodman takes a swing at Neves's ribcage but misses.
Neves looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Bruno Neves's cut is getting worse.
Neves doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Saul Goodman seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Goodman throws a lazy right hand but Neves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Goodman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Neves was well out of range. Poor timing from Goodman.
Neves dodges the punch combination from Goodman.
As Goodman tries to get set, Neves tries to push him back and clinch up but Goodman manages to avoid the attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Goodman. Neves does a little dance to reset his feet.
Neves goes for a double leg but Goodman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Goodman continues to drive forward.
A nice left hand lands by Goodman.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Goodman lands a right hand that snaps the head of Neves backwards.
Goodman stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Neves has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Goodman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Neves is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Goodman pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruno Neves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice body punch from Goodman - that landed with a thud.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Goodman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Neves throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Neves is trying to control. Goodman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Neves prevents Goodman from improving his position.
Neves thows a huge punch but Goodman dodges it nicely.
Goodman has hold of Neves's hands but Neves slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Goodman holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neves wants to pass to mount but Goodman is defending the position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Neves seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Goodman for as long as he can get away with.
Neves is pressing down on Goodman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Goodman is holding on for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neves is working hard here to advance position.
Goodman tries to get to full guard but Neves has control of the leg.

And that's the end of the fight!

I think Goodman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
