The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downson tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Downson misses with a body shot.
Downson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away.
Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Downson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Downson misses with a straight right.
Downson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Alabaster Jones has been cut.
Downson misses with a wild body shot.
Downson scores with a sloppy right hand. Jones should have avoided that one.
Downson thows a body shot but no joy.
Downson looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Downson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Downson uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Downson throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jones in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Downson is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
