Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Kelly (ranked 4632 p4p, 3587 weight class) and Jalen Kendrick (ranked 540 p4p, 462 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kendrick is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kelly scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kelly misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kendrick misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kelly.
Kelly throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kendrick avoids the body shot from Kelly.
Kendrick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelly as he jumps to the side.
Kelly seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Kendrick throws a hook but Kelly blocks it.
Kelly with a nice cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelly misses with a hook.
Kendrick throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looked like Kelly wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kelly looks to score with a jab to the body but Kendrick is just out of range.
Kendrick wants to counter the offense by Kelly and move into the clinch position.
Kendrick swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Kelly throws a right hand that misses
letting Kendrick counter with a right hand.

Kelly feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kendrick sprawling to the canvas! Kendrick rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kelly finish him?!

Kendrick is rocked!
Kendrick circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Kelly. Kendrick falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Kelly!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Kelly!
John Kelly bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Jalen Kendrick spoke after the fight, saying 'Sorry for the loss, I'm going to keep training and come back stronger. I'm not going anywhere, but sorry to my mom if she is still watching.'.
