Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoppus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Not Now. Mark Hoppus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hoppus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Lopez! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lopez shoots in and bounces Hoppus off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Hoppus looking for a sweep. Not yet Hoppus, not yet. Hoppus has his foot on Lopez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lopez works his way back into a safe position though. Hoppus working for submissions but it's allowed Lopez to get to half guard.
Hoppus throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hoppus missing with punches from the bottom.
Hoppus is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoppus is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Lopez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lopez decides to stand back up. Hoppus with a poor takedown and Lopez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hoppus's guard. Hoppus has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lopez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hoppus. Hoppus is breathing heavily. Hoppus is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lopez has just dragged him back down to the mat. Hoppus looks to move to half guard but instead Lopez has passed into mount! Damn! Hoppus is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lopez is standing up, even though he is in mount. Lopez scores with a takedown into Hoppus's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Lopez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hoppus is proving hard to escape from. Hoppus tries to land a sweep but no joy. Lopez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hoppus, up you get! Lopez gets the takedown into side control. Hoppus tries to bench press Lopez off him but Lopez keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hoppus wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Hoppus tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hoppus tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Hoppus throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Hoppus flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hoppus is trying to stand up. Hoppus is looking to improve his position but Lopez isn't that keen on the idea. Hoppus wants to try and get back to his feet. Hoppus is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hoppus regains half guard. Hoppus looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Doug Lopez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lopez fails with the takedown. Lopez shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoppus tries to sprawl out of it but Lopez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoppus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lopez has a takedown stuffed. Mark Hoppus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doug Lopez. Hoppus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hoppus seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lopez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
