PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Burrito Supreme (ranked 2733 p4p, 4040 weight class) and Masada The Zealot (ranked 339 p4p, 469 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Zealot gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
The Zealot rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Supreme counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The Zealot forces Supreme back against the cage and clinches.

Supreme's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Supreme jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The crowd cheers as Supreme lands an impressive looking overhand right. The Zealot doesn't seem phased though.
The fighters circling - Supreme throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

The Zealot darts in and clinches Supreme up against the cage.

The Zealot smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Supreme takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The Zealot throws a right hand that Supreme ducks under and follows up with a left that Supreme also avoids with ease.

and Supreme counters with a nice uppercut.
A telegraphed right hand from Supreme misses the target.
The Zealot gets cracked there but stands up to it.

No joy there for The Zealot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Supreme avoids a punch combination nicely.

The Zealot moves into the clinch successfully.
The Zealot has Supreme pressed against the cage, preventing Supreme from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Supreme will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The Zealot tries a head kick but it misses.
Supreme misses with an uppercut. The Zealot saw that one coming.
Supreme takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

The Zealot has closed the distance and engaged Supreme in a clinch.
Supreme looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Supreme wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The Zealot throws a big shot that misses.
It looked like Supreme wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Supreme closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Oh Supreme is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Supreme shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Supreme gets tackled into the cage by The Zealot. The Zealot maintains the clinch.
Supreme seems to have got his legs back now.
Supreme has had enough of the clinch but The Zealot keeps him there for the moment.
The Zealot lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The Zealot is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Supreme tries to circle away but The Zealot has him pinned against the cage.
Supreme can't break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Burrito Supreme will probably get the nod.

The Zealot gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Supreme gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! The Zealot is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
