Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Joseph Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Bong!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Bong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Bong moves into the clinch successfully.
Bong wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Bong wants a takedown but no success here.
Bong tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Bong drops back down to his feet.

Bong manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Jones wants to control but Bong is keeping him busy.

Jones is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bong!

Jones jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bong manages to avoid the submission attempt.
You can see the frustration on Bong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bong is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bong can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jones in side control, throwing shots but Bong defends.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bong moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bong throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.

Bong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones has momentary wrist control but Bong slips an elbow through the middle.
Bong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.
Bong must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones is looking for a triangle but Bong pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bong chips away with some ground and pound.
Bong wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jones is pulling down on Bong's head to control his posture.
Bong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Bong drags him back down.
Jones defending against the ground and pound.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Jones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Jones is not content to let Bong control the position.
Jones is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Bong dominated that round.
That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Bong works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard.
Bong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bong is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bong's back instead.

Jones is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Bong is trying to get back to his feet but Jones has full control of the position and if anything, Bong has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Jones controlling well, preventing Bong from escaping the position.
Bong is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bong just trying to survive but Jones is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Bong prevents Jones from getting a body triangle.
Jones controlling well, preventing Bong from escaping the position.
Jones somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Bong staying busy and making it hard for Jones to control.
Jones not allowing Bong to control his hands.
Bong is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bong just trying to survive but Jones is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jones has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Bong! Can he survive? No! He's out! Jones gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
