PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bushido Blade (ranked 4769 p4p, 4440 weight class) and Bill Goldberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goldberg has chosen GOLDBERGS WCW INTRO MUSIC as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bushido Blade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blade keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Goldberg.

Goldberg drives through with a takedown into guard.
Goldberg is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Blade could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Goldberg stops Blade from standing up.
Blade wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Goldberg manages to pass to side control.
Blade is trying to stand up here but Goldberg is controlling him well.
Goldberg is controlling the pace.
Blade is trying to stand back up but Goldberg is controlling him
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goldberg tries to pass to full mount but Blade defends it.
Blade wants to get back to his feet.

Goldberg is looking to take a break and control but Blade is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Goldberg prevents Blade from standing back up.
Goldberg seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Goldberg looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Blade is trying to stand back up but Goldberg is controlling him
Goldberg not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Blade is looking to escape.
Goldberg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Goldberg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Goldberg lands in his opponent's guard.
Blade wants to stand and escape but Goldberg is having none of it.
Goldberg throwing strikes from guard but Blade blocks nicely.

Goldberg prevents Blade from getting back to his feet.
Goldberg chips away with some ground and pound.
Goldberg trying to control the position from guard on top but Blade is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Goldberg is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Goldberg slips nicely into half guard.
Blade pushes Goldberg off looking to stand but Goldberg dives back in and keeps control.
Goldberg thows a huge punch but Blade dodges it nicely.
Goldberg trying to control the action but Blade is working from the bottom.
Goldberg might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blade haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Blade wants to get back to his feet.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Blade knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goldberg on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Goldberg on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Blade keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Goldberg waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Blade.
Goldberg swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Blade throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Goldberg counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Goldberg trying to control but Blade is working from the bottom.
Goldberg with a flurry of punches that miss.
Goldberg content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Goldberg trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Goldberg controlling from the top position.
Let's hope that Goldberg has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Goldberg slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bill Goldberg dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Goldberg fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Blade swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Blade blocks a jab.
Goldberg throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Blade counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A swing and a miss from Goldberg.
Goldberg shoots in looking for a takedown but Blade manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goldberg's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
An attempted straight right counter from Blade misses the target.
Goldberg misses with an uppercut. Blade saw that one coming.
A little feinted left hand from Blade on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Goldberg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goldberg shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blade sprawls well. Blade wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Goldberg gets slowly back to his feet.
Bushido Blade has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Goldberg.

Blade lands a big right hand that sends Goldberg crashing to the mat! Blade stays standing though and waves Goldberg back to his feet!

It looks like Bill Goldberg has been cut.

Goldberg shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Blade but Blade pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Blade throwing a counter right hand but Goldberg manages to avoid it.
Goldberg misses with a hook.
An attempted straight right counter from Blade misses the target.
Goldberg takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Horrible takedown attempt by Goldberg or perhaps it was just good defense by Blade, which made it look bad.

and Blade counters with a huge left! Goldberg is in big trouble! He's backing up but Blade isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Goldberg from any more damage. A dominating finish by Blade!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bushido Blade!
