This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 21 losses; Thad Thayer!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Thayer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jan is fending him off so far but Thayer persists. Nope, Jan circles away and we're back to standing.
Thayer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jan tries to avoid it but Thayer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jan to the ground. Jan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Thayer stops Jan from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Jan has hold of Thayer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Thayer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
