Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Seppo Soturi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Ruuti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soturi comes to the cage accompanied by Insomnium - Down With the Sun. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seppo Soturi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kim Ruuti! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruuti looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Soturi pushes Ruuti off and gets back to his feet. Ruuti closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Soturi to the mat! Soturi manages to get full guard. Soturi is looking to stand up but Ruuti isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Soturi kicks Ruuti off and gets to his feet. Kim Ruuti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruuti throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Soturi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Soturi lands some shots froms side control. Soturi cracks Ruuti with an elbow. That is naaassty. Soturi wants to control but Ruuti is keeping him busy. Soturi cracks Ruuti with a big elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soturi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Soturi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Soturi in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Soturi stands up. Ruuti lands a nice looking body kick. Ruuti pushes Soturi away with a front kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruuti wants to clinch. Soturi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ruuti's waist but Ruuti gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Soturi off to one side. Ruuti tries to clinch there but Soturi circles away.

Soturi has his takedown stuffed and Ruuti counters with a shoot takedown. Soturi fights it but they end up in guard. Soturi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Soturi tries to get out of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soturi is trying to keep Ruuti in close.
Ruuti won't allow Soturi to get back to his feet. Soturi pushes Ruuti off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Soturi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Soturi lands a nice forearm strike. Soturi cracks Ruuti with an elbow. That is naaassty. Soturi decides to stand back up. Ruuti is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ruuti throws a body kick that misses. Ruuti looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruuti has his takedown stuffed and Soturi counters with a single leg into guard. Ruuti didn't expect that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Soturi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ruuti is trying to control the position but Soturi postures up. Soturi landing with the ground and pound. Soturi content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Soturi is working Ruuti over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Soturi stands and throws Ruuti's legs to the side, diving into side control. Soturi controlling from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Seppo Soturi dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Soturi gets the takedown into side control. Ruuti being controlled for a moment. Ruuti tries to improve position but can't. Ruuti is breathing heavily. Soturi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Soturi stands up and beckons Ruuti to his feet. Soturi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruuti on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Ruuti on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Soturi stands up. Ruuti goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Soturi clinches. Soturi has clasped his hands together around Ruuti's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruuti is looking for a sweep. Soturi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ruuti some visible discomfort.
Ruuti taking a bit of punishment here - Soturi scoring with strikes. Soturi stands up and we're back to a striking position. Soturi fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Soturi looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Soturi stands and steps away. Ruuti gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Soturi closes the distance and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soturi stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Ruuti is fighting off a takedown attempt but Soturi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ruuti to the mat. Ruuti regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Soturi looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Soturi trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruuti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Soturi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Soturi cracks Ruuti with a solid left hand. Seppo Soturi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ruuti is working an open guard so Soturi takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Soturi moves into range and clinches up with Ruuti.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Come on Soturi - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Soturi decides to pull guard. Soturi wants to sweep here but Ruuti controlling him for the moment. Soturi punching to the body, from the bottom. Soturi pushes Ruuti off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Soturi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ruuti counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Soturi! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Soturi tries to lock up and control but Ruuti gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Soturi bucks up and throws Ruuti to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Seppo Soturi dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Soturi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Soturi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. An inside leg kick from Ruuti misses. Ruuti with a poor takedown and Soturi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ground and pound from Soturi. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ground and pound from Soturi. Soturi stands up from half guard. Soturi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ruuti pinned against the cage. Ruuti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soturi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Soturi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Soturi working Ruuti over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soturi stands up out of the half guard. Soturi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ruuti in his tracks. Soturi circles away from the clinch attempt and Soturi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ruuti won't be happy with that. Ruuti is the more experienced fighter here and he's going to need to draw on some of that experience if he's going to pull this one out the bag. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Soturi decides to stand back up. Soturi steps back and let's Ruuti get back to his feet. Soturi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ruuti but Ruuti pushes him off and we're back to square one. Soturi rushes Ruuti and presses him up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soturi wants the takedown. Ruuti is fighting it off but Soturi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Ruuti's guard against the cage. Soturi scoring with some ground and pound. Soturi lands a couple of elbows. Soturi lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Soturi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ruuti's head. Soturi gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Soturi shoots and misses and Ruuti counters with a nice double leg into guard. Kim Ruuti has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seppo Soturi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Soturi throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Soturi striking off his back but it's not causing Ruuti any problems.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruuti missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Soturi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ruuti is controlling him. Seppo Soturi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Soturi has Ruuti pulled in close to control his posture. Soturi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ruuti trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Soturi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Seppo Soturi showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Soturi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
