CWC 265 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 8 losses; Ruben Gracie! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 6 losses; Helio Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva moves into the clinch.
Gracie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
My spies in AREA 51 inform me that Silva has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
Gracie is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Silva has his hands clasped together but Gracie extends and breaks Silva's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gracie.
