Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kamaru Thompson (ranked 4515 p4p, 4778 weight class) and John Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 563 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamaru Thompson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Reese! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson tries for a takedown but Reese sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Reese clinches up with Thompson and pushes him back against the cage. Thompson is trying to pull guard but Reese has him pressed against the cage. Reese jumps guard and drags Thompson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Reese trying to strike off his back.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Reese manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Thompson tries to stall but Reese uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Thompson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamaru Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thompson tries to pull guard but Reese won't allow it.
Reese breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reese defends it nicely. Reese gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Reese - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Reese tightens his grip and picks Thompson up, before dumping him to the ground. Thompson manages to land in guard. Reese forces his way into half guard. Reese stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Thompson to get to his feet. Reese drives through and clinches with Thompson against the cage.
Thompson pulls guard successfully.
Thompson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reese controls the pace. Let's hope that Reese has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reese's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Reese gets to his feet. Thompson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Reese keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Thompson goes for a double leg but Reese avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Reese continues to drive forward. Thompson is looking for a takedown. Thompson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Reese smiles and moves away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reese stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reese wants it to stay on the feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Reese prevents the takedown attempt.
Thompson tries to pull guard but Reese forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Reese stalling.
Thompson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Reese breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Reese closes the distance and clinches. Thompson is trying to force a seperation but Reese has the dominant position. Thompson can't break the clinch.
Reese tries to land knees in the clinch but Thompson avoids the damage to the body. Reese has hold of one of Thompson's legs. Thompson is fighting the takedown attempt but Reese gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Reese is standing up over Thompson. Thompson looks to escape but Reese dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reese controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thompson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Thompson is looking to reverse the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Reese decides to stand up, so the ref orders Thompson to his feet. Reese drives through and clinches with Thompson against the cage.
Thompson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Reese has him pressed against the cage. Reese is defending well against a takedown attempt. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
John Reese dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Reese scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Thompson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Thompson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reese on the ground. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson trying to control the action but Reese just sinks the hooks in. Reese is riding his opponent, not letting Thompson buck him off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reese has got one arm under Thompson's chin. This could be trouble... Thompson trying to control the other hand but Reese gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Thompson has tapped out! The fight is over!
