Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Raymond Sunshine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yussuf Hoejlund! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sunshine with a lazy takedown attempt and Hoejlund counters with a right hand to the body. Sunshine shoots for a double leg takedown but Hoejlund sprawls well. He's pushed Sunshine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hoejlund is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Hoejlund has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Raymond Sunshine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sunshine shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Sunshine wants to pass the guard but Hoejlund is defending well. Sunshine looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hoejlund won't allow Sunshine to pass to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoejlund is defending against the submission attempts here by Sunshine.

Hoejlund wants to control but Sunshine is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoejlund is looking to improve his position but Sunshine isn't that keen on the idea. Sunshine is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hoejlund has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Sunshine has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Sunshine is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hoejlund can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sunshine working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Sunshine has control of Hoejlund's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hoejlund regains control of the situation pretty easily.
