Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jobber Joe (ranked 403 p4p, 2921 weight class) and Kasper Hansen (ranked 44 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jobber Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Kasper Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Joe looks to land a combination. Hansen sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Kasper Hansen has been cut.
Joe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Joe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hansen circles away quickly and effectively.
And Hansen tries to counter it with a takedown but Joe pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Joe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hansen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Joe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Joe misses with a double jab.

Hansen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Joe is trying to defend but Hansen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hansen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hansen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Joe's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hansen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Joe has managed to free his arm - good work.
Hansen performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Joe wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe is working hard here to advance position.
Joe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hansen on the ground.
Hansen tries to pass to full mount but Joe defends it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hansen is taking a breather. Joe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hansen is trying to control the action in half guard but Joe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Joe is doing well to control the position and prevent Hansen from advancing to side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hansen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Hansen misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Joe to counter with a crisp jab.
Hansen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Joe to score with a decent uppercut.

Hansen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Joe to the ground. Hansen is now in Joe's guard.
Hansen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Joe controls Hansen momentarily but Hansen frees himself.
Hansen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hansen tries to free his leg and advance position but Joe is retaining full guard.
Joe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Joe tries to get out of the position.
Joe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hansen is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joe is looking to advance position but Hansen won't allow it.
Hansen keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Well, if Joe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jobber Joe dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kasper Hansen's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hansen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hansen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Joe counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hansen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Joe connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hansen scrambles back to his feet.
Hansen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jobber Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kasper Hansen.
Hansen fails with a takedown attempt.
Joe throws a shot to the body.
Joe ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hansen with a poor takedown
and Joe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hansen thinking.
Joe cracks a nice hook into Hansen's ribs.
Kasper Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Joe counters with a stiff right hand.
Hansen is breathing heavily.
Hansen misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Joe to counter with a crisp jab.
Joe listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Hansen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Joe ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hansen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Joe counters with a straight right hand.
Hansen walks into a jab.

Hansen is rocked!
Joe punishes Hansen's body with a nice straight punch.

Joe lands a big right hand that sends Hansen crashing to the mat! Joe stays standing though and waves Hansen back to his feet!
Hansen is still on wobbly legs! Can Joe finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Joe counters with a huge left! Hansen is in big trouble! He's backing up but Joe isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hansen from any more damage. A dominating finish by Joe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jobber Joe!
Jobber Joe very nearly forgot to thank Island Xtreme Clothing amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
