Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Moye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Sander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Sander has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Moye!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roger Sander!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moye moves away from the strike by Sander.
Sander fails to land the takedown.

Moye shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sander bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Moye's guard.
Moye controls Sander momentarily but Sander frees himself.

Moye is trying to keep Sander in close.
Moye wants to sweep but no luck.
Moye on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Moye tries to get out of the position.

Moye can't keep his opponent in guard - Sander advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Well, if Sander is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moye is trying to maintain the position but Sander is very close to passing his half guard.
Moye is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Sander jumps into side control!
Moye is looking for a sweep.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sander remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sander tries for a kimura but Moye is defending well.

You can see the frustration on Moye's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Moye is pushing Sander's head away, looking to escape. Sander manages to hold on to the position though.

Moye is trying to control Sander's posture but Sander avoids it.
Moye knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sander on the ground.

Sander tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Moye manages to get back to half guard.
Sander is looking to take a break and control but Moye is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Moye is trying to get back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sander trying to control from Moye's half guard. Moye has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Moye trying to keep a closed guard but Sander is proving a slippery customer.
Moye will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moye is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Moye escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sander gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moye is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Moye will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sander, right into the meat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sander fails with the takedown

and Moye counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Sander's guard now.
Moye in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Moye wants to control from the top but Sander keeps moving.
Moye controls from within his opponent's guard.
Moye postures up.
Moye forces his way into half guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Chris Moye just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Moye rushes Sander and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sander wants to break the clinch but can't.
Moye prevents a takedown attempt there.
Moye drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sander pulls his leg out and moves away.
Moye circles away from the clinch attempt

and Moye counters with a takedown into side control.
Sander is trying to control Moye's posture but Moye avoids it.
Sander is not content to let Moye control the position.

Moye staying calm.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Moye dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Moye lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Sander closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sander lands in his opponent's guard.

Sander is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sander takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Moye wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Moye has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sander can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Moye won't allow Sander to pass to mount.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Moye is looking to take a break and control but Sander is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Moye goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sander has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Moye but great work by Sander.

Chris Moye overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sander is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moye has escaped the position, nice work there.
Roger Sander has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sander in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Chris Moye is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Moye sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Moye.
Well Moye has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
